Art as an act of slowing down
There are many simple ways to slow down and enjoy art in your daily life. You can start by setting aside a few minutes each day to sketch, knit, build, plant.... The point is to disrupt the habit of speeding through life without even noticing it. We consume so much data every hour, the act of creation is a mindful step back from the din and a way to give back to the world your tangible take on the process of life.

New Work In Progress: A Fissure Of Sorts
Most of my work takes months to create. I usually start in the summer months by prepping my canvas boards with their large detailed elements and getting the coated and textured. This way, as it gets colder outside, they can come inside where I can paint them and then start adding in all the detail work.
Without further delay, here is the video of my progress so far on a work that feels like a fissure and the beauty and strangeness that can grow out of a break or crack.
